Although the August 31 deadline set by President Biden to evacuate Afghanistan has come and gone, there are many people left behind living in fear and danger under the Taliban rule, including those employed by the US, journalists, women and girls and human rights activists.

These vetted nonprofits are dedicated to helping Afghans, whether staying safe in their country, getting to the US or resettling in their new home.

  • International Women's Media Foundation supports female journalists in Afghanistan;

  • Vital Voices supports vulnerable Afghan women and girls;

  • No One Left Behind supports Afghan interpreters hired by the US;

  • and HIAS supports all Afghan refugees, especially those employed by the US.

Support these organizations and the people of Afghanistan with a tax-deductible gift by either:

  • Logging on to your Goodnation account and searching for the organizations by name, where you can then make a gift with your preferred payment method, including credit card, check, DAF, wire or stocks;

  • Signing up for your free Goodnation account;

  • Or emailing Emily Ball, Philanthropy Advisor.
