Position Summary
Goodnation provides tax-exempt status along with a suite of tools and services so that charitable programs can confidently raise funds for their cause. Learn more here. In response to our portfolio of programs rapidly growing, we are building out our fiscal sponsorship department, seeking a Fiscal Sponsorship Program Manager to join our two other Program Managers, each with their own portfolio of programs.
This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer and also work closely with the Finance Operations Manager.
Core Duties / Responsibilities
Program Management and Support
Manage a portfolio of programs as the main point person, representing Goodnation and building a deep understanding of each program, their mission, team, unique needs, and finances, supporting them in ways that allow them to focus on fundraising and fulfilling their mission.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with our programs by communicating regularly with program leaders, being responsive and helpful, and working with the team to enhance our level of support.
Help maintain programs’ accounts on our fiscal sponsorship platform, which you will be trained on and are expected to have a strong understanding of.
Onboard new programs joining your portfolio.
Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth relationships with programs.
Suggest and improve processes.
Provide regular updates to the rest of the team on the impact and status of the programs.
Collaborate closely with and hold regular check-ins with the COO and other Program Managers.
Set up and maintain company and contact profiles in CRM.
Understand the landscape of the issue area of your programs, recommending resources and grant opportunities to your portfolio when appropriate.
Finances
Track and share incoming donation details for the Finance Operations Manager, to ensure donations are allocated to programs in a timely manner and tax acknowledgment letters are sent to the proper recipient.
Review all bill pays and reimbursement requests from your programs for proper documentation before approval by COO and Finance Operations Manager.
Keep an eye on program balances, in order to communicate any concerns in advance.
Donations and Grantmaking
Support programs with grant applications, ensuring they reach deadlines with a strong application. Provide funding information and get grant agreements signed.
Support programs with questions from donors.
Collaborate with programs to understand expected incoming gifts and grant applications.
Manage all donor information for proper recording.
HR
Work closely with COO on HR needs for program employees, including onboarding, benefits, offboarding, and support on performance management and hiring.
Clearly communicate benefits and processes with programs.
Review consultant agreements and obtain required signatures.
Collect, manage, and organize W9s.
Compliance
Along with Goodnation leadership, ensure programs comply with nonprofit, fiscal sponsorship, and personnel laws and regulations as well as with Goodnation’s protocols.

3-6 years or more of related experience, although we are open for the right candidate.
Have a good understanding of, and experience with, nonprofit and foundation operations including fundraising and grantmaking.
Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
Organized, attention to detail, takes initiative, anticipates needs
Strong project and time management skills, managing varying needs and priorities of multiple programs.
Knowledge on, or willingness to learn, softwares such as Quickbooks, Ribbon, TriNet, Slack, Dropbox Sign, and Google Workspace.

Compensation, Benefits and Culture
This full-time position will be hybrid remote for employees located in the NYC area, with one day a week in the Financial District office. Other employees will be fully remote.
This role will be hired by Goodnation Philanthropy Advisors, with the option to be hired under Goodnation Foundation if there is a need for loan forgiveness.

Position Summary
Goodnation has a core team of six staff, and we employ a growing number of employees (30+) thanks to our fiscal sponsorship support. In response to our growing team, we are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to help manage compliance and strengthen the employee experience. We want to ensure that the leaders and changemakers who join our organization receive the highest possible quality human resource services. We utilize TriNet to manage our employees, an HR solution that includes payroll, benefits, and helps ensure compliance.
This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer and also work closely with our Fiscal Sponsorship Program Managers.
Core Duties / Responsibilities
W2 Employees
Assist with all steps of the employee cycle from recruiting to offboarding and everything in between
Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Assist with the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures, and communicating and enforcing these to the team
Assist with benefits enrollment and changes, responding to employee questions as needed
Gain an understanding of the tools offered by TriNet and how we can leverage them to streamline efforts and strengthen the experience of our employees
Serve as main point person for TriNet, reaching out to them for clarity and information as needed
Field questions from employees on payroll, benefits, processes, and other related items
Support payroll processing
Contractors
Maintain contractor agreements to be up to date and complaint
Review incoming contractor forms before being signed by Goodnation’s President
Help manage renewals
Provide input on and help maintain the process for onboarding a contractor
Compliance
Ensure employees have the proper tools, trainings, and resources to remain compliant and follow best practices, especially when it comes to hiring and offboarding
Help to properly evaluate if a worker should be a 1099 contractor or a W2 employee
Ensure HR processes comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Monitor compliance with required training programs, certifications, and policies.
Specific to fiscally sponsored programs (“programs”):
Collaborate closely with Program Managers and the COO on programs’ needs and Goodnation’s processes, prioritizing compliance and their experiences
Help determine at what steps in the employee cycle process Goodnation should review and/or collaborate with programs
Work with COO to get feedback from programs on areas where their input may be valuable

2 - 5 years experience working in human resources, with varied experience, or adjacent experience, to the employee lifecycle, payroll, benefits, compliance, and more.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with an HR solutions platform

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Knowledge on, or willingness to learn, softwares such as Slack, Dropbox Sign, Paperform, Hubspot, and Google Workspace.
