Anchor Donor

A donor who cares deeply about a specific issue and wishes to activate their network to raise secure and tax-deductible gifts. The anchor donor establishes the fund at Goodnation with a meaningful initial gift.

Goodnation Expertise

Whether you wish to develop a Goodnation Smartfund or are in need of fiscal sponsorship, Goodnation's expert team helps you every step of the way. Our support includes:

Activated Networks

Goodnation works with the anchor donor and subsequent fund donors to activate their networks in support of the cause. Additionally, Goodnation deploys the fund through its own networks. Goodnation conducts all grantmaking and is able to provide ongoing impact updates to donors.

  • Odessa Peace Fund

    In partnership with an individual donor

    A former Ukraine refugee living in NYC felt compelled to help his home country during the war of 2022. Funds raised go towards urgent medical supplies, transportation, food and other basic needs.

  • NYC Speaks

    In partnership with Ford Foundation, Robin Hood Foundation, Galaxy Gives and more philanthropic institutions

    NYC Speaks is bringing together New Yorkers to inform the priorities and policies of the new mayor. Goodnation Foundation provides financial support and strategic input and provides transparency and accountability.

  • HBCU Wrestling Initiative

    In partnership with Galaxy Gives

    HBCU W was launched to restore wrestling to America’s historically black colleges. Goodnation accepts and distributes grants and manages payments for consultants.

  • Safe and Just DOC

    In partnership with Pinkerton Foundation, Art of Justice Fund and Galaxy Gives

    Safe and Just DOC is working to transform the New York City Department of Correction. Goodnation designed their brand and built their website, accept and distribute grants and manage payment for consultants.

  • One for Democracy

    In partnership with Galaxy Gives

    One for Democracy is a coalition of philanthropists, business leaders, and foundations pledging 1% of their assets towards strengthening our democracy. Goodnation plays a role in grantmaking; setting up a secure donation platform; and providing marketing and communications support.

  • American Dream Fund

    In partnership with TagFi and The National Black Chamber of Commerce

    The American Dream Fund (ADF) was created to fund the critical needs of Black-owned businesses to catalyze the recovery from the pandemic while also creating a sustainable ecosystem for long-term success. Goodnation’s role includes setting up a secure donation platform and distributing funds to nonprofits.

  • Coachella Valley Hospitals PPE Fund

    Coachella Valley Hospitals PPE Fund

    In partnership with an individual donor

    At the height of COVID-19 in California, an individual donor sought a simple and effective way to raise funds in order to provide PPE to local hospitals. Goodnation’s role includes designing and building a landing page and setting up a secure donation platform.

  • Vanguard Smartfunds for Hunger & Homelessness

    In partnership with Vanguard Charitable

    The initial Smartfunds built for Vanguard donors by Goodnation are solving hunger and homelessness in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and California.

    MSEUM

    MSEUM is built to be the world’s first museum created by women, for women artists– especially under-represented women artists–and a dynamic destination for art lovers of all ages and abilities.

  • Carbon Development Council

    This initiative unlocks solutions to restore our climate, including the responsible deployment of carbon removal.
