Hispanic Heritage Month

This month pays tribute to Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced our nation

Today kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month, which pays tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society.

US-born Hispanics and Hispanic immigrants made up 18.1% of the population in 2017 and earned more than $1 trillion, contributing more than $252.2 billion in taxes. Additionally, 28.5% of Hispanic immigrants who arrived to the US between 2012 and 2017 held at least a bachelor's degree.

12% of Hispanic immigrant workers worked for their own business in 2017, making them 24.5% more likely to have their own business than the overall US population.

80% of registered Hispanics vote in presidential elections and in some states, this community makes up 29 - 42% of the electorate.

It's clear that US-born Hispanics and Hispanic immigrants are great contributors to this country, and we celebrate them this month and all year long. As always, you can log on to your account or email your Philanthropy Advisor to learn more about and support any organizations led by and lifting up Hispanic Americans and immigrants.
